To strengthen our software-development team in Zurich, we are looking for a passionate Data Science & Backend Development Intern who is keen to join a dynamic and mission-driven startup and gain first-hand experience.
About the Role
As an Intern at Correntics, you will be immersed in an early-stage start-up. This means you can have a big impact on the direction this venture is going. This comes with great responsibility and requires ownership. You will closely work together with our CTO, two frontend developers, and a domain expert on all upcoming technical problems and challenge them if needed. This way, you will experience a steep learning curve, develop your skills in the field of data science and software development, as well as best practice guidance in this context. Additionally, you gain first-hand insights into the exciting journey of a start-up.
What we are looking for
To accelerate our start-up journey, we are looking for an enthusiastic team member with:
Ideally a Master student or experienced Bachelor student in IT, Data Science or equivalent field
Strong analytical skills, interest in analysing large datasets
Familiar with basic statistics and data science libraries in Python (xarray, numpy, pandas)
First experience with raster and vector datasets such as climate and weather data, or geographic data is desirable
Solution-oriented, flexible, and very strong team player
Ability to quickly adapt to new situations
Ability to think and execute independently, with a great attention to detail
High level of openness, curiosity, aspirations, and hands-on mentality
Full written & spoken fluency in English or German
Ambition to aim high while having fun along the journey
What we can offer

Derive new spatial datasets for our climate risk analytics platform using statistical approaches
Work on our API to optimize the workflow and management of large datasets
Test and validate the benefit of the latest AI technologies on our services
